Workshops
The Danger Room, Saturday June 11th 10:00 am-12:00 pm Price: $15
Instructor: Jose Gonzalez, Galapagos PHX
The Danger Room is essentially an exploration of the art of improvisation, your role within it as an artist, and challenging ourselves to do our best work while having a blast! In the process of this journey, we'll prepare you for tackling scenes that are so much more than just people standing around on stage being clever & witty and performances that are greater than the sum of their parts.
Extending the Scene, Saturday June 11th, 12:15 pm- 2:00 pm Price: $15.00
Instructor: Christopher Williams and Bill Binder, Buck PHX
Finding ways to take your scene work to the next level. Do you feel stuck after a couple of minutes? Do you bail out on a joke that ends the scene? We look at how these issues come about, and how improvisors can use them to create longer, deeper, scenes.
Beginning Improv, Saturday June 11th 2:00 pm- 4:30 pm Price $15.00
Instructors: Chris Williams and Javier Gilmore of Buck and Chaos Comedy PHX
Starting with a strong foundation on the rules of Improv, students will move into partner work, Improv games, open scenes and partner work. Building on this foundation we will explore how these techniques will help with auditions and how to push their improv to the next level.
