Jeff Andersen
Jeff has a B.A. in Theatre Education from the University of New Mexico and is the Artistic Director for Blackout Theatre. He specializes in getting children to grow both artistically and socially while creating a safe classroom environment where kids are encouraged to play and have fun.
Kristin Berg
Kristin is the Artistic Director of Cardboard Playhouse Productions, is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University where she received her bachelor's in University Theatre Studies. Along with her degree, which allowed her to learn about all aspects of the theatre, Kristin has learned the ropes of a family-run business from her grandparents and parents through the success of their Fair n' Square Food Store. She had produced and directed many shows, including Welcome to the Moon and Other Plays, The Music Man Jr., and David Mamet'sThe Frog Prince. She has a knack for working with youth as well as adults, producing and directing many shows since her graduation six years ago.
Lindsey Berg
Lindsey is the Extended Care Supervisor at Alice King Community Charter School where she organizes projects and playtime for over 30 children 5 days a week. She has taught several summers with the Jewish Community Center, Children's Choice, and Campfire USA. Lindsey enjoys working with children and is attending UNM in the fall to complete her Bachelors in Family Studies and plans on pursuing a career as a family counselor.
Josh Bien
Josh Bien has a BA in Design for Performance, emphasis in lighting and scenic design from the University of New Mexico. He is an actor, singer/songwriter, improviser, puppeteer, director and founding member of Blackout Theatre. He has recently been seen on stage on improv teams such as; "The Q," “MIT (Musical Improv Team),” “Blackout Improv,” and “Marshall’s Law.” Josh teaches theatre classes at Highland High School.
Barney Lopez
Barney Lopez is a director, playwright, actor and improviser in Albuquerque, NM. Lopez graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Theatre in 2009 and currently teaches children age 3-6 at Escuela Del Sol Montessori. Barney has been teaching improv in Albuquerque for 2 years. You can catch Barney on stage with improv teams such as; Marshal’s Law, MIT(musical improve team), Starship Jefferson, The Q & many more!
Barney Lopez is Education/Outreach Director and a founding member of Blackout Theatre Company.
Alex Knight
Alex Knight has been teaching Improv in Albuquerque for 5 years. After graduating from UNM he began working at Gorilla Tango Comedy Theater. There he became the Educational Director as well as Director of Improv in charge of organizing weekly shows. Alex has performed with many improv groups including Mahatma Blondie, Unitard, No Holds Bard (improvised Shakespeare), Starving Horse and The One Night Stanleys. He can currently been seen as Detective Potts on ABC's Scoundrels.
Doug Montoya
Doug as over nine years of improv experience as part of the Improv Inferno troupe in Los Angeles and with Improvagaddadavida in Albuquerque. He has produced and directed many childrens's plays over the past three years, including A Charlie Brown Christmas, LOST on Gilligan's Island, Alice in Wonderland," the New Mexico premiere of Disney's High School Musical, and Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr., to name just a few. Recently, you may have seen him in Free to be You and Me or as Sancho Panza in Man of La Mancha,both performed at the Albuquerque Little Theatre. Doug often works with local authors to produce and direct original works. His Youth Comedy Camp, where kids learn improv skills and sketch comedy writing techniques, is a sellout every summer.
Christopher Walsh
Chris is Media Arts Director of Blackout Theatre. He graduated from Emerson College with a BA in Visual Media Arts. He has directed, written, edited, and produced several short and feature length award winning films with his production company Amigo Productions. He is also a founder of the Junior Filmmaking Academy and teaches Acting for the Camera for UNM Saturday Morning Classes.
Heather Yeo
Heather has been improvising all over Albuquerque for over five years and has taught classes and workshops in improvisation at Triple Threat Performing Arts, Albuquerque Little Theatre, APS, and UNM. She has performed with both Blackout Improv and "The Q: an Improvised Soap Opera." Currently, she performs with No Hold Bard, an improvised Shakespeare team, MIT- Musical Improv, and Team Susan, a two person improv team with the One Night Stanleys' Steve Lucero.
