Improv Level 1 for Kids

Mondays 5-6:30pm | Ages 10-15

September 27th-November 1st; Class Performance November 5th

This class will teach you basic improvisational techniques.  Learn how to think on your feet, become more confident onstage and just have some fun.  Work with other kids who are learning the craft right along with you.  The class will end with short-form teams being formed and a chance to perform in Blackout Theatre’s Black Lab, Albuquerque’s only improv laboratory that showcases new teams.

Improv Level 2 for Kids

Tuesdays 5-6:30pm | Ages 13-17

September 28th-November 2nd; Class Performance November 5th

This class continues and sharpens the techniques learned in Improv Level 1. Focusing on “the good scene” students will perfect object work, explore environments, and become more comfortable performing as they learn Long Form Improv. The class will end with long-form teams being formed and a chance to perform in Blackout Theatre’s Black Lab, Albuquerque’s only improv laboratory that showcases new teams.

This class will teach basic improvisational techniques. Focusing on the basic rules students will learn how easy it is to play, think on their feet, become more confident and have fun. The class will end with short-form teams being formed and a chance to perform in Blackout Theatre’s Black Lab, Albuquerque’s only improv laboratory that showcases new teams.

Improv Level 2 for Adults

Thursdays 5:15-6:45pm | Ages 18+

Advanced Drama for Homeschoolers

Fridays 11-12:30pm | Ages 12-17

October 1st-November 5th

Advanced drama is a 90 minute session for students who have already had drama experience, either in a Cardboard Playhouse Production, Box Class or other drama program and are ready for the next challenge! Actors will learn a variety of skills all with a strong performance focus. The lessons work directly on improving acting technique, and encourage spontaneity and fun through improvisation and short performances. They will also gain important tools to help with auditions, and working in a rehearsal process. The class will conclude with a performance for family and friends.
