We hope that we are able to answer your question! See below.

Q. What does my child need to prepare for the audition?
A. Most of our auditions consist of a cold reading from the script and portion of a song prepared by the auditionee performed a capella. Also, it is IMPORTANT to bring a calendar with the actor's or family's events to place on the conflict sheet. A cold reading is where the actor is given a part of the play they have never seen before, they need to make a big choice concerning the character they are assigned at the audition. It is always good to pick a song that is in the style of the show or character you are interested in playing. Occaisionally there may be a dance or movement audition.

Q. How long should the audition last?
A. We try very hard to keep to the 15 minute timeslots you choose. It is important to arrive early as there is a short form to fill out. We may be a bit behind schedule as we do get a lot of young actors. When we had auditions for Beauty and the Beast, we had over 70 kids to get through!

Q. How will my child find out whether or not they were cast?
A. We let everyone know by email about our casting decisions. It is important that we have an email that is checked often. We will give you a date at the audition that the email will go out on. We do let actors that are not cast know that they have not received a role and that if they are interested in working crew we will be in touch with them.

Q. What are your rehearsals like?
A. We typically rehearse 5 days a week, Mondays-Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 pm and Saturdays from 2:00-3:30 pm. We try to schedule rehearsals so actors are not called to scenes that they are not needed in. We do encourage actors to bring homework so they may work on it in down times.
